About a week-and-a-half ago, I wrote about the Couche-Tard avatars that popped up at the end of PodCamp Montreal. The Couche-Avatards, as they’ve come to be known, have been adopted by even more PodCamp attendees, but tonight I discovered the ultimate hommage. Michelle Sullivan (@msullivan), PodCamp organizer and communications professional posted a movie to her blog featuring computer generated represenations (that she made using xtranormal.com) of prominent podcasters Dana (a.k.a. @wankergirl) and Sylvain Grand’Maison (@sgrandmaison). The film pokes fun at the Couche-Tard addictions of PodCamp Montreal attendees.
Thanks, Michelle, for scripting those in the rehab centres to be “screaming Adele! Adele! in their sleep.” Though, I’m not quite sure if that’s good or bad!
As one of the PodCamp Montreal organizers said to me, “maybe Couche-Tard should be a sponsor next year?” Great idea!
So, what about it, Couche-Tard? Want to make a lot of media creating, early adopters into true evangelists and have fun doing it?

they should totally sponsor pcmtl next year. or at least a party or two. I’d be willing to throw it in my hotel room again!

Couche-Tard got more free advertising than anyone or any sponsor at PodCamp Montreal (David Usher may be the exception). Not only should they be hit up for sponsorship but someone should get them the heck on twitter already. They’re missing a huge opportunity. Whenever I pass a Mac’s now, all I can think about is Couche-Tard and it makes me want to go inside.

(full disclosure: Xtranormal is a client. Oh, and xtranormal.com is wicked fun)
Thanks Adèle - glad you got a kick out of it. It was a blast to make.
Xtranormal.com is currently in beta - what’s nice about it, besides the ‘if you can type, you can make movies’ concept, is that you can also build communities : anyone can jump onto the PodCamp Montreal / Couche Tard bandwagon by adapting my movie and continuing the storyline. (Or, like Lucas, releasing a prequel).
Wish I could have used the Quebec French male feature to have Sylvain’s character speak with an accent, but that would have required phonetic transcription skills and a bit more time than I had (thankfully) on a Friday night.

Enjoy!

Amber, Eden, Alexandre: I wholeheartedly agree that Couche-Tard has a great opportunity here. Who doesn’t want early adopters as evangelists?
Michelle: xtranormal looks like lots of fun. What a cool client to have, and I it sounds like the mashups could be a great way to build momentum with an event. Thanks again for making me part of your hommage to PodCamp Montreal.
