A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about being nominated as one of Canada’s Most Influential Women in Social Media. No one saw it.
Thanks to a glitch in WordPress, my post went *poof!*, and so here I am again, a little late to the party.
I am humbled by the nomination, because the 30 other women in this list are amazingly creative, intelligent and accomplished people. I am truly proud to share adjacent pixels and be in this industry with them.
Dave Forde of Profectio launched this vote as a result of seeing the list of the 50 of the Most Powerful and Influential Women in Social Media, which included only one Canadian. Wanting to celebrate the talent in his own country, Dave took the initiative, and some flack, to champion Canadian women in social media. Recently, he launched the Canada’s Most Influential Men in Social Media vote as well.
Voting ends at 11:59 pm, December 31st, 2008 and 3 winners will be selected according to:
- PostRank’s Engagement analysis tool, PostRank will run a report based on each entrant’s engagement. A score of 0 – 3 will be assigned.
- Community Votes – There 31 women influence you in some way, shape of form, so it only makes sense that you get to vote. A score of 0 – 3 will be assigned.
- Involvement Ranking – Points will be awarded to individuals who helped educate the market place through hosting events on/ around the area of social media and speaking at event on/ around the area of social media. A score of 0 – 4 will be assigned.
I ask you to please consider casting your vote for me if you’ve:
- enjoyed my sessions on Twitter at PodCamp Toronto, PodCamp Montreal or video conversation networks at Montreal Girl Geek Dinner;
- plan to attend my sessions at PodCamp Toronto 2009 or the 2nd Annual Social Media Conference;
- met me at SXSWi, Third Tuesday, Tech Entrepreneurial Breakfast, Start-Up Drinks, or a Tweetup;
- read my blog and learned more about how to apply social media tools and tactics to your personal or business marketing efforts;
- followed me on Twitter and found the information I post helpful;
- benefited from my guest posts on the Conversation Agent, One Degree, Media Bullseye and Touchbase;
- been inspired by my efforts to advance the understanding and adoption of social media as part of an integrated marketing approach.
Thanks again to Dave Forde for shining the spotlight on the men and women in Canadian social media, thank you to Mark Goren and Ryan Anderson for nominating me, and thank you for your support.
