Bio
I am an early adopter of social media with over 25 years marketing experience. My well-rounded experience in both traditional and digital marketing led me to launch McAlear Marketing in 2007, focused on helping businesses integrate social media into their marketing mix. My projects included social media strategy, digital audits, market research, email marketing and marketing plans in addition to offering training in social media best practices. My clients included major brands, celebrities, agencies and small businesses.
In 2009, Profectio.com named me one of the Top 10 Most Influential Women in Social Media in Canada and in 2008, I was included as one of the original 75 Twitterati on Guy Kawasaki’s AllTop network. My expertise has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Globe & Mail’s Report on Business, The Canadian Press, CanWest Global and CBC Radio.
I speaks regularly at conferences about marketing, social media and digital legacy, including SXSW Interactive, TEDx Concordia, Webcom, MESH and Social Media Breakfast Montreal. Active in the technology and marketing communities, I have played a leading role in the development of non-profits Twestival and DigitalEve, and am a marketing mentor for FounderFuel, a startup incubator in Montreal. Since 2008, my blog Marketing Monster (http://adelemcalear.com) examines developments in social media and how they apply to business marketing.
I studied Marketing at Concordia University and hold additional certificates in marketing, HTML and CSS. Find me on most social networks with the user name AdeleMcAlear.
