My Background
From my early days in the music scene, I never wanted to be the rock star - I wanted to help others shine in the spotlight.
So I became a marketer, stepping first into entertainment PR, then later helping to build big and small brands in both B2B and B2C channels. I have hands on experience in technology, non-profit, consumer products, property management, retail and manufacturing sector
In 2000, as one of the co-founders of DigitalEve International, a non-profit organization for women in technology, and as the founding Executive Director of the Vancouver chapter, I learned about community building from the ground up and how the power of passionate participants can achieve incredible feats. This learning has been instrumental in understanding, communicating with and being part of the emerging social marketing segment, and knowing how to help clients successfully navigate these new waters.
I am part techno-geek and part marketer, with over eighteen years marketing experience behind me. McAlear Marketing launched in 2007 and I am based in Montreal, Canada, but thanks to technology, I can communicate with clients around world.
